I invite you to celebrate solstice with a potluck and a downtempo Contact Improv Dance. It will be at Awakenings Wellness Center on Sunday the 19th from 6pm-10pm. See below for the address and general location. When you arrive you can enter to the left side of the building up the ramp and in the double doors.
I love to connect through dance and hope you will join me for all or part of this evening celebration. Please bring yourself, an open gentle heart to connect and a healthy potluck dish to sustain us through the evening. At this stage of the Coronovirus I feel comfortable sharing a close evening of eating and dancing only with fully inoculated guests (at least two shots of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or two of the Johnson and Johnson (or a mix of types) and two weeks from the last shot. I also request masks to be worn while dancing at all times unless you are on the deck. For those who are not vaccinated, this policy is not designed to exclude anyone but to adhere to safety recommendations and allow more guests to attend, without a risk of infecting loved ones and their community. I consider you part of our dance community regardless of your vaccine status. I miss you and look forward to the time when we can all be back on the dance floor together.
I am hoping that will come as early as in March or April of 2022. I am wanting to hear from you if you are interested in a regular dance of downtempo contact fusion that will also be for inoculated only until next year when the transmission rate is low. I watch the case count numbers really closely and all indicators lead me to think March of 2022 is fairly realistic for a more open dance. Multnomah County has achieved 72% fully vaccinated for the entire population of all ages, 82% for 12+, 83% for 18+ and 96% for 65 plus age groups. I am eager for that time to come and yet ready to create more dancing opportunities now rather than have this bug lock us down too much!
Awakenings is a great place for having an indoor dance and keeping the risk lower. It has a beautiful cork floor that is radiant heated and lots of windows that open and a double door to an outdoor deck that can open as we choose. If it isn’t raining then dancing on the deck is possible as well. The kitchen is next to the dance floor and there is a bathroom right off the kitchen. The ceiling is of moderate height and the air flows well with the windows open.
This party is to celebrate claiming the life I want and pouring my heart into what I want to see more of in the world. Will you please join me?
