About

Dolphin Dance is similar to Watsu, Aguahara, Water Dance and other forms of aquatic bodywork. One major difference from Watsu is that the practitioner can take clients underwater if they wish to experience the full range of the Dolphin Dance experience. When  underwater, clients experience an extension of their breath which allows them to be submerged for a longer period of time than they might expect. This is called the diving reflex, a trait that humans share with dolphins, which is why it’s founder, Lilia Cangemi called this form the Dolphin Dance.

People find Dolphin Dance to be very relaxing and deeply restful and nurturing to the nervous system. People experience Dolphin Dance in different ways. Some people can experience a psychedelic or trance  state while others might have a rebirthing experience. For others, it might simply be deeply restful and an invitation to their nervous system to reset or come into balance. Click these links to learn more about Lilia and Dolphin Dance.

Dolphin Dance is offered in NE Portland at the base of Rocky Butte in an in-ground pool set at 98 degrees (body temperature) so that your body can fully relax and not focus on up-regulating or down-regulating your core temperature. There is a changing space and shower, as well as a hot tub which is often available to relax in afterward.
