Contact Improvisation Class + Jam

$10 – $20

Come learn or refresh your contact skills in a class taught by a group of visiting international dancers and then put these skills into action or let them all go in a jam.

What is contact?

Contact is a movement form that was created in 1972 by choreographer Steve Paxton in collaboration with several other dancers. Nobody can ‘do’ contact alone. It is a partnered dance form based in principles of momentum, weight-sharing, resistance, falling, and stillness. It explores the infinite possibilities that exist between two or more bodies.

Any body is invited.

This event is open to all people regardless of race, ability, gender, sexuality, class, religion, or background.
